Mundo Magico! :)

This week was a little bit of a slower week, with it´s ups and downs! Sadly, we had to stop visiting the Cristobal family. :( It breaks my heart, but they stopped progressing because they can´t come to church on Sunday´s. I pray that one day things will change and they can become an eternal family :)  We didn´t get to work as much as we would have liked to this week either! And when we did get to work, no one was home when we went to visit them! This week was the start of Winter Break for the school´s of Argentina, so all of La Plata was out celebrating!

We spent all day Friday in another meeting with our new mission president, except this one was only for the newer missionaries and their trainers. It was a great opportunity to think of how I can continue to help my companion, Hermana González, feel more comfortable with missionary work and create habits that will help her all throughout her mission! :) We also had delicious, super cheesy pizza for lunch, so that was a plus!

On the bright side: there was a free activity in La Plata to celebrate Winter Break, so we got to go to that with the other Hermana´s in our area! It´s called "El Mundo Magico", or Magic World :) it was basically a cheap version of Disneyland, but it was still super fun! Mickey Mouse was there, and the Disney Princesses, and... Jurassic Park! Kind of an odd mixture. We got some ice cream afterwards too! It was a good day :)

I tried something crazy this week! We had another Family Home Evening with the Paco Family this week, Rosana and Raul, and they cooked asado for us! (BBQ) Except, it wasn´t just an ordinary asado with chicken and beef! They also cooked Chinchulin, which is cow stomach/intestines! I just about died!! It took some convincing, but my companion and I decided to try it in the end! I think it must be an acquired taste ;) yikes! Haha!

Here´s a quote for the week :)

"Decide to do something that will have eternal consequences." - Elder Richard G. Scott

(Thanks Grandma)

Take care, love you all! :)

Abrir la boca! :)

Sorry I don`t have a lot of time today! We had our Zone Activity and we all traveled to La Plata to eat at a buffet, so we got back a little late! But it was delicious! Pizza, empanadas, pasta, potatoes, salads, flan, ice cream, and muuuch more! I never want to eat again ;)

My testimony that Heavenly Father is preparing people here in Olmos, Argentina to receive the gospel was strengthened a lot! My companion and I had the opportunity to find 2 new investigators this week, and a whole bunch of possible future investigators! We also had the opportunity to meet our new Mission President. He is amazing! He has such a strong spirit, you can literally feel it right when he walks in the door! I`m very excited to begin this new adventure serving with him in the Argentina Buenos Aires East Mission :)

Here`s my new mailing address:

Hermana Tayler Lynne Orgill

And here`s a quote by Elder Holland to sum up my week :)

"Some blessings come soon, some come late, and some don`t come until Heaven; but for those who embrace the gospel of Christ, they come!"

Con amor, Hermana Orgill

P.S. Our new Mission President lets us drink "Mate" in our apartments now! Mate is VERY popular here! It`s like a type of herbal tea, except I think it tastes like dirty water ;) everyone says it takes time to get used to though! I guess we`ll see :)

Mission switch!!

Well, I´m officially a missionary in the Argentina Buenos Aires East Mission now! My mission split in half this week, I have a new mission president and everything! We have a big meeting in the city La Plata to meet him, his name is President Nuñez from Chile. It´s pretty exciting! :)

Also, Happy 4th of July! I didn´t get to celebrate it much here, obviously since it´s a USA holiday ;) but it was quite the party this week with the big Argentina vs. Chile soccer game! There was absolutly NO ONE in the streets during the game and NO ONE answered the door for us. Argentines are very serious about their fútbol! Unfortunately for Argentina, Chile came out on top. But my companion (Hermana González from chile) was unusually upbeat the next day :)

Saturday we got the chance to help Los Hornos with another Tormenta Blanca, which is where the members and the missionaries split up and go visit as many people as possible. Even though I wasn´t used to being apart from my companion, the woman who became my temporary companion is amazing! She served a full-time mission in Chile and is now the mother of 4, with a 5th on the way. She is very Very pregnant, yet she still fulfills her calling as the Young Womans President and she spent her valuable Saturday morning visiting her fellow brothers and sisters. She is a great example of sacrifice and true conversion to the gospel! We got to visit 3 families together, it was a great experience! :)

Fast Sunday was amazing this week!! We had 85 members come! I think that is the most I have ever seen in the chapel here in Olmos :) I shared my testimony, along with my companion and the other companionship of sisters in our area, and even felt a little nervous looking out at all the people! It was amazing to see soo many people that I have come to know and love, all together to remember the Savior, Jesus Christ, on the Sabbath day :) Also, our recent convert, Baltazar, received the Priesthood during church! Hopefully he can make it to the ward temple trip on July 25th to do baptisms for the dead!

Have an amazing week everyone! Love you all :)

Con amor, Hermana Orgill
