Gracias a que Él Vive :)

Well, nothing really new happened during the past 4 days since I last sent an email. :) But on Sunday, we helped another area (La Plata 2) with their "Tormenta Blanca" or "White Storm", which is where the missionaries separate from their companions and become companions with a member of the ward and we all go out and visit less active members. It´s basically like SUPER visiting teaching!

We also started a new iniciative for Easter, "Gracias a que Él Vive". If you get the chance, go to mormon.org and watch the video! It´s amazing :) #GraciasaqueÉlvive

I got to go to Walmart again for P-day today! It´s always an adventure in Walmart! I bought myself some golden Oreo´s and Mantecol (a delicious candy bar here in Argentina) as an Easter/General Conference treat for this weekend :) I can´t wait for General Conference! It´s going to be such an amazing experience, especially for our investigators! Hopefully they can come and feel the spirit while listening to the inspired words of the Prophet and other leaders of the church! And... Happy Easter! I hope that everyone will take the time to remember the Savior and his eternal sacrifice. I know He lives and loves each and everyone of us. :)
Love you all! Stay safe!

Con amor, Hermana Orgill

Night at the Museum! (Argentina Style)

Weeeeeell, this week definitely had its ups and downs! We started out with a week full of plans and appointments, it looked very promising indeed! And then... POW! Almost every single one of our appointments with our investigators fell through! It was rough, but we didn´t give up! Everything happens for a reason :) We ended up finding a new family to teach, which is perfect because the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is centered around the family! We have another appointment with them on Saturday, we pray that everything works out :)
On Thursday, we had a Zone Conference with our Mission President. It was a great spiritual boost, all of us left the Stake Center excited and ready to get to work! Plus, we all received a gift from the mission: a pillow and sheets! Yay! Exciting stuff, huh ;) Then on Monday, we got to do service for a couple of members in our ward! We helped them paint their house! Their dog, a black lab named Soy, tried to help us paint as well! That was quite the experience, let´s just say black dog hair and white paint don´t mix well ;)
Today, we visited the Museum of Natural Science here in La Plata! It reminded me sooo much of the movie, "Night at the Museum," I swear I saw one of the statues blink! Here´s a few pictures from our adventure en el Museo :)
But anyway, Fall has begun in Argentina! Never have I experienced such a quick change in temperature! It literally changed over night, exactly on the first day of Fall (the 21st). We went to sleep caliente with all the fans on and woke up the next morning to a crisp chill in the air! Welcome to Argentina, where anything is possible ;)
Have an amazing week, love you all!!

Con amor, Hermana Orgill

Discípulos de Cristo :)

This week, we focused a lot on families! Families are so important to our Heavenly Father! :) So we went through our list of members and wrote down a whole bunch of less active families that we could visit! And we found two less active families that seem to really be interested in coming back to the church! Woohoo! Then, on Saturday we had another Capilla Abierta! It wasn´t for our ward, it was for the ward Tolosa but they asked for our help. It was very successful! We had quite a few visitors, investigators, and less actives come :) Yesterday, I spoke in church on how we are all disciples of Christ! I love the scripture in 3 Nephi 15:12! We should always remember that we have Christ´s name written on our hearts! :)

Today has been quite the interesting Pday. It started off with trying to go and buy food for the week, but being stopped by a protest in front of the grocery store! Then we waited for the collective (bus) for 30 minutes so that we could get to the church in Citybell and have our Zone activity. Once we got to the activity, we got to play volleyball, eat chicken sandwiches and ice cream, and watch The Penguins of Madagascar! It was a good day, all in all :)

Sorry I can´t send pictures this week! I´ll send some next week :) Also, my Pday is on Wednesday next week! Just a heads up :)
Love you all! Have a great week!

This week flew by! We spent most of our time this week contacting references and less actives. We found three really great less active families and hope to help them find the desire to come back to church in the next couple of weeks! We´re still working hard with Hernan, trying to help him gain a testimony of Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon. Sometimes it´s a little discouraging, but then I remember that my purpose is to invite everyone to come unto Christ! I can´t force them to choose the right path, only invite them and help them along :)
I had a cold over the weekend, but it passed pretty quickly. I´m feeling much better now :) What a blessing! It´s super hot here again! It´s supposed to be cooling down for fall, but it´s not! I´m still sweating bullets :) but I don´t want to complain too much, because I know that in a few months I´ll be wanting the warm sun back ;)
We had a really fun district activity for Pday today, we got to play pool! Some members cooked us a delicious lunch of empanadas, grilled chicken, salad, and rice. Then we played ping pong at the church :) And to end it all off nice and sweet, Hermana Flores and I got some ice cream!
Not too much else happened this week, but it was definitely a good one :) it´s always a great day to be a missionary!
Love you all :) stay safe!! Thanks for everything!

Con mucho amor, Hermana Orgill :)

Small and Simple Things :)

This week has been an interesting one! But very rewarding :) My new companion, Hermana Flores, and I have been working very hard to prepare one of our investigators for his baptism on the 14th of March. He reads the scriptures every day, prays everyday, and he even gave the closing prayer in sacrament meeting on Sunday. He has such a sincere desire to be baptized and share the gospel, but he has a few doubts about Joseph Smith. We pray that he will receive and recognize the answer to his prayers, that Joseph Smith truly was a prophet called of God and that the Book of Mormon is true. I know these things to be true with all my heart! And I know that he can come to know them as well :) through the small and simple things: prayer, attending church, scripture study, and keeping the commandments. I know that everything will work out in the Lord´s timing :)

"What we do is nothing but a drop in the ocean, but if we didn´t do it the ocean would be one drop less than it is." -Mother Teresa

I hope we can all continue doing the small and simple things, they really make a difference! We can help fill the ocean by being examples of Christ!
I love you all :) Stay safe!

Con mucho amor, Hermana Orgill

Oh yeah, funny story... we were on our way back to the apartment after buying groceries last Monday, when I felt something warm hit my face! I thought it was just a really big rain drop, but then I realized IT WAS NOT RAIN! It was bird poop! Just my luck ;) what a great way to start out this transfer with my new companion! hahaha!

Photos:
1) Surprise! It´s not rain!
2) Ice cream in the Plaza :)
3) La Capilla!
