Feliz Año Nuevo from Argentina! :)

This week was full of festivities! We got to spend our Christmas Eve with a member family, where we ate dinner and talked and had a grand óle time! It´s very different to have a hot Christmas, it felt more like the 4th of July! I hope you´re all enjoying the snow ;) We also got to watch Disney movies! Yay!! :) And of course, I loved having the opportunity to Skype home and talk to my family! We´re so blessed to know that families can be together forever!
My companion and I had a great experience this week while trying to visit a less active member. When we got to her home, she wasn´t there. But her grandson and grandaughter were! They invited us in and we started talking about the gospel and such. Turns out, the grandson is not a member but has been looking for the true church to join for many years! Golden!! My companion and I could feel his testimony and his sincere desire to know the truth for himself! What a day :)
I hope you all enjoyed Christmas and remember to keep the Savior in your hearts, not only during this time of year, but every day of the year! Love you all! Happy New Year!! :)

Feliz Navidad!! :)

I´mmmmm dreaming of a Whiiite Christmas! NOT ;) It´s the strangest thing not to have a cold or white Christmas this year! But I´m excited to see how it goes :) This week was full of festivities! We had our ward Christmas party, which was a success, especially since we had a whole bunch of less actives come! We also had the Stake Christmas Choir performance, what a powerful way to share our testimony of the Savior and His birth! We also have a new investigator, a woman from Costa Rica! She owns an ice cream shop, which is where we met her. She has such a sweet spirit, I can see that the Lord has prepared her to receive the Gospel in her life! I love being able to help others come unto Christ, it´s amazing!
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and that you remember the real reason why we celebrate this time of year, the birth of our Savior. He is the ultimate gift :)
Feliz Navidad!!

It´s raining cats and DOGS!

This week went by pretty quickly! I almost can´t believe it´s already Pday again! I love summer storms! We´ve had quite a few thunderstorms this week! They really help bring down the temperature, which is a huge tender mercy in this heat :) I had a cool experience earlier this week too. I got to help one of the members of our ward learn English. She´s taking an English course in college and needed help with pronunciation, so she had me read some sentences aloud while she recorded them (that was a little weird), but I was happy to help!!
Today we had a district activity, yayy! We made a huge Peruvian lunch and then had a big water balloon fight! That was a blast :) I´m loving Argentina more and more each day! Love you all, thanks for everything :) be safe! Feliz Navidad!

I´m not in Kansas anymore!!

Argentina!! Woot woot! I made it through my first week on the mission field! It was a looong week, but I´m excited to be here! After the long 10 hour flight to Buenos Aires, I got to meet my mission president and his wife. They are amazing! They fed us a wonderful lunch of empanadas and pizza, Argentina style! Dulce de leche is the best by the way!!
My new companera, Hermana Silva, is the sweetest! She´s from Brazil and only speaks Spanish and Portuguese, which is an adventure in itself ;) Sometimes it´s tough to communicate, but we´re surviving! I hardly understand anything anyone says here! I just smile and nod most of the time :) but it´s great to finally be here!
Argentina is very different, it´s a whole new world! There are dogs everywhere, and it´s super hot and humid! But we still stay positive, we have a joyous message to share with anyone who will listen! :) life is good! We have quite a few investigators, two of whom have committed to baptism, and our members here are la bomba!! Being a missionary is definitely a challenge, but it´s worth it!! :)

I love you all! Stay safe!

I'm going to Argentina!!

This week was AMAZING! Mostly because today I got my flight plans for Argentina! I'm so excited! I leave on the morning of December 1st and I will arrive in Argentina in the morning of December 2nd! I can't wait to begin another new adventure! :)

Along with getting my flight plans this week, I also got to be a new missionary host! Over 700 new missionaries came in to the MTC on Wednesday, so my district was asked to help escort the new Elders and Sisters around campus. I got to help 3 sisters pick up their learning supplies, find their bedrooms, and then find their classrooms. It was a blast! The excitement was so high, I loved being able to share my experiences with them and help them feel more comfortable during that difficult period of change!

Sorry I don't have a lot of time to write today, just know that I love you all and that I love being a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints! Stay safe! :)

Let It Snow!

This week was absolutely amazing! My companion and I taught two of the best lessons to our investigator Cynthia (who is really my teacher, Hermana Hapairai). We taught her about faith and the Atonement. Even though she wasn't a real investigator, the spirit was real! It was so strong that we even committed her to baptism! When the lesson was over, I was breathless at how wonderful it felt and how the spirit led us the entire time! Those two lessons made the entire week of sitting in class all day planning and preparing 100% worth it! I love this gospel and I love being a missionary! :)

We also taught our (real) investigator, Raul, for the last time. He is going to visit his family in Ecuador for Thanksgiving and he won't be back until after we leave the MTC. It was tough to say goodbye! Although we only taught him twice a week for three weeks, we learned to love him and want him to accept the gospel so much! But we planted the seed and gave him the tools to draw closer to Christ! :) and that's our purpose as missionaries: to invite others to come unto Christ!

It has been super cold the past few days, which is crazy because just last week we were all outside playing sand volleyball in the sun! Now it's freezing outside and it even snowed yesterday! My companion was super excited, she's from Las Vegas and absolutely loves the snow! I can't say I was too thrilled ;) but it was a beautiful day! The first snow is always the best!

I love you all! Be safe and have a great week! :)

Strength to be Faithened

What a week! Saturday was a day of classes: 3 hours of gospel doctrine, 3 hours of Spanish, and 3 hours of gospel doctrine IN Spanish! I can't complain though, my District is the best and somehow we always make those long days fun! :) I made it to another Sunday! The big piece of advice here is "Just make it until Sunday", it's true! Sunday's are full of the spirit and I especially love that we get to talk a walk to the temple with our Zone! It's always nice to spend time outside (even when it's freezing cold). Anything is better than sitting down the entire day! Tuesday was interesting, we got to attend TWO devotionals instead of just one! We even got to leave campus for the first devotional! It was at BYU in the Marriott Center. Do you remember Brother David F. Evans, the guy who prayed in General Conference, and accidentally asked for our strength to be faithened?! He was the speaker! It was great, we all got a good laugh out of it. :) Other than that, my week has mostly been filled up with classes! Life as a missionary is the greatest, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else! I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true!
